The lake’s greatest depth is 25 meters (82 ft). Each year, there are good catches of fish such as bass, northern pike, pike-perch,för several types of white fish, etc. The lake is well suited to trolling, and during the summer there is special fishing for pike-perch weighing over 7 kg (15 lbs). Säveån (trout)

The upper reaches of the Säve river, at the naturally beautiful town of Floda (approximately 5 km/3 miles from the campground), has wonderful stretches of water with good-sized trout, offering excellent fly fishing. This stretch of river is renowned among anglers, both within Sweden and abroad.

Jonseredsvattnet (salmon)

The fish above was caught late one evening last summer, and its weight was estimated to be between 7 and 8 kg (15-17 lbs) before it was released back into the lake.

If you are looking for greater fishing challenges, they can be found just round the corner. The well-known salmon stream, Jonseredsvattnet, runs from lake Aspen. This stream is home to one of the country’s largest shoals of salmon, and a good number of fish weighing over 10 kg (25 lbs) are taken in these waters each year. This salmon fishing area can be reached by car from the Aspen campground in 15 minutes, or by taking the commuter train for two stops, which takes about 10 minutes.

Kullsjön (put and take)

Kullsjön lake is located 4 km (2.5 miles) from the campground. This is a popular put-and-take fishing area, with primarily rainbow trout.
